Of great interest to all colorists and telecine folks in LA this Saturday:

This Saturday in Los Angeles there will be a Seminar on "Color Management for 
Digital Cinema".  It is free to SMPTE/SIGGAPH/SID members and only $10 for
others.  There will be Digital Cinema Demonstrations.  Steve Poster, ASC and
Richard Crudo, ASC are among the panel members.  Details below:

Topic:  Color Management for Digital Cinema Presentations
This symposium examines the complex issue of managing color when a
motion picture is displayed in digital cinema format. How will color be
handled to ensure that the images approved by creative people are
displayed faithfully on the screen?  Technical presentations followed by
a  panel discussion on visual effects for digital cinema and the
post-production process changes needed for effective delivery of digital
color.  The Program is designed for those working in creative,
production, and technical fields, including animators, visual effects
artists and supervisors, directors, cinematographers, production
designers, colorists, post-production supervisors, facility managers,
engineers, and executives.
