them both down to 1 frame per second the Dalsa sensor would blow the doors
off a little 2/3 inch sensor of equal technology.  No doubt about it.

Now, speed them both up to 24fps and try to get 50 million pixels per second
at 12 each bits RGB (1920 x 1080 x 24) out of Viper --with three chips, one
A/D dedicated to a chip-- vs. 200 million pixels per second at 16 bit each
RGB(4046 x 2048 x 24) out of the Dalsa offering --with 12 A/D's all
connected to one chip.  The noise floor certainly goes up in this scenario.
Remember, it's all analog up until the output of the A/D's.

There's a certain level of futility to these discussions because no real
data is available from manufacturers.  I'm not sure they will publish it
unless people start to demand it.  Empirical data is just that.
