Greetings,
This is a follow-up to earlier threads on the 50th anniversary of videotape. I'm happy to be
organizing a
screening for the upcoming Association of Moving Image Archivists conference in Anchorage
Alaska, to mark
the 50th Anniversary of videotape--specifically, of 2" quad tape. I'm hoping members of the
list may be
interested in helping provide, or track down, clips.
Though the screening will be focusing on the early years of the format, any and all
submissions are welcome.
The only criteria is that they must have originated on 2" tape. If you have something in your
collection that fits
this description--something unique, something you're surprised was recorded, something
that wouldn't exist
had that 2" machine not been rolling on a broadcast, please let me know. Clips should be
short--about 5 mins
max--since it's a brief screening (about an hour).
Leads to possible titles, especially if they come with contact info for friendly archivists, are
also welcome. I'm
happy to answer any questions you might have about the screening, the conference, etc., of
course.
Thanks very much,
Jeff Martin
