Isn't this the core of what the General Electric Talaria projectors did,
create color by changing the angle of the electron beam etched groove on
a film of oil by varying the angle of the electron beam as it scanned
across the oil? Thus creating color from a continuously variable
prismatic effect, as opposed to from three monocolor scans (as Eidophors
and other projectors have done).
