Hi,
The light engine has some extra dichroic filtering to narrow the
bandpass of each primary colour rendering a wider gamut. The obvious
trade-off is poorer light output, but getting the light output down far
enough for the average Post Production screen is usually a chore, so
this will be a benefit!
The 'KP' package adds around 6000 Euros to the price. As I understand
it, this would require a complete light-engine replacement for existing
users. We are investigating whether a retrofit or upgrade is feasable.
Replacing parts on the Barco light engine is a clean-room job (as the
whole thing is completely sealed).
Kind Regards,
Laurence Claydon

Well. I saw it and it dose look good.
Didn't get a fixed price.
I question the clam of greater than DCI color. It would seem that some
marketing person got carried away. As in the JVC HD2K projector, there
is nothing 2K about it.
The DCI color gamut is in XYZ space that is wider than what lasers can
do. We wrote it that way to cover all bases. For them to calm wider than
that well -- too much drink --I think.
Thanks
