Hi Craig, and the rest of you out there :o)

Craig, I did splash a number of smilie faces around my last post as I do know you well enough you know when you're having a playful dig! But you are buying the next bottle of white ;o)

And I do deserve it... Most of the time...

But but my point was a very valid one as the SRW vtr and Stwo recorders do capture 4-1019 in Dual Link mode, and a lot of post houses don't realise that this has implications for monitoring as well as workflows, and especially for video deliverable.

The monitoring bit is especially interesting.

I have had to spend some time developing a workflow to deal with this for a client, and it's this that prompted my posting.

There is some 'secret sauce' in that solution, which I'm not likely to give away just yet, but do keep a look-out on the Digital Praxis website.

However, I will say OmniTek were particuarly helpful :o)

Anyway, now you're aware of the potential problems, and I hope I deserve some thanks for bringing this to your attention???

But I will say film's lack of D-min stability can be equally problematic, especiallly when mixing film stocks.

And as for film spectral highlights still showing grain with no flat fully exposed areas - I guess that has something to do with bloody great lumps of silver being in the film stock ;o)

What do you expect Peter???

My turn to duck! Again!!!

All the best,

Steve
