Don Freeman at Sunset Digital gave a snippet of information about the transfers in a mini segment in one of the new online CBS Paramount promotion info trailers (at startrek.com), where he stated that the HD telecine transfer are using a technology where the emulsion layers of the CO negatives are being scanned separately.
Anyone has further info of this scanning technology or a lead to contact Don Freeman for possible further technical info on the transfers?

Thanks for that info. Do you know who is the colorist or colorists working on the episodes at Sunset? Would like to obtain any available inside info about the film transfer, which could be shared here, but do you know if any articles are in the works about this aspect to be published anywhere?

All the original opticals are being recreated here at CBS Digital. Sunset is doing the HD transfers as the only telecine at CBS is a MK III Turbo 2 clone.

Anyone here knows who is doing the new HD transfers for CBS of Star Trek: The Original Series? Would love some details, no details of this are out, it's mostly about the CGI enhancements to SFX shots, so far there was one quote about they are being done from the OCN's, but thats all.
Thanks.
