Let's not get too rosy-eyed here...
As another member of the FT community I felt I was sold a "bill of
goods" when I first bought FT last summer.
Billed as version 2.4, It was barely a 1.5 product. It was not close
to being stable, it had a huge number of its features that didn't
work or were so buggy as to be unusable, and every new version they
put out would break a feature that had been working previously. There
was a reason they handed out direct extension numbers of tech support.
The app was a mess.
At least when Apple bought it the app froze in place and I could work
out a flow that was predictable - not being constantly lured by the
siren call of the next-big-bug-fix-morphed-into-a-rat's-nest.
I was so frustrated I was getting ready to release an article to the
various user sites on the net pointing all this out. After the
acquisition I modified it to make it related to the Apple
acquisition... but it has some areas that need clarifying and I've
been too busy to finish it. You can read my (unfinished) thoughts on
FT here:

The "not-so-good" stuff starts on Page 3.
