[Tig] color vocabulary reference

Does someone here have at hand a reference on the web for color  
nomenclature or vocabulary, with examples and derivation?  There  
should be somewhere a comparative list of colors with their reference  
'chips,' along with historical or syntactic names, such as burnt  
sienna, cadmium  yellow, cobalt blue, royal blue, navy blue, etc.   
and how they were derived.

There would be inherent limits to the vocabulary as traditionally  
these color names were applied to subtractive rather than additive  
color processes... but perhaps there are allowances made for the  
different processes in the application of names.
