I don't think an online timeline exists at the moment, you will have
to make
one. start with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_intermediate
You might want to describe what part of history you are really
wanting to
lookup. Telecine development goes way back into the '60s
which was also the period of hardware developments for video.
If you mean solely for digital intermediates in film, then start
by looking up the work on Pleasantville. There is some
prior work in visual effects houses and at Disney, but the
modern development of color correction systems is tied
to the development of digital intermediates. Some
hardware based color correctors came from video
production like the DaVinci. Other keywords to lookup:
Colorfront, Quantel, Flame, Harry, Inferno, Lustre, Cineon.
