back in the days, we used to conjure up ideas of post-production
uniforms for those of us in the trenches. One version circa 1984 had
us in lab coats and silver lamé boots, white gloves.
The most interesting day for that kind of thing was Halloween, and
one particular year at Action Video, imagination ran wild. A
telecine assistant arrived at work in full LAPD regulation uniform
(his brother being a bonafide
policeman) but with a sewn patch stating his affiliation: The Chroma
Police.
A male engineer arrived dressed as Glenda. Most amazing for a
former New Yorker, where Halloween wasn't for adults, was seeing his
colleagues driving to work in these getups.
