And let us not forget the RCA TTR-10 portable VTR (an offshoot of a failed
data recorder project for the military) and the Fernseh KCP-40 portable
camera, both of which made up the basis for the Vidtronics Videomobiles.

I had a special fondness for the Bosch/Fernseh KC series of cameras. They
used a three tube (YRB), four channel (YRGB) system which made simply lovely
pictures in the hands of a VC who understood them. Many didn't, however, and
hated them. I used the KCK-40 30mm for the first 5 years of Night Court,
developed my own matrix for them (the standard matrix - made up of fixed
1/2% resistors - was biased toward EBU phosphors and minus blue in flesh
tones, among other things) and won my first Emmy with them. One of the
facets of the camera that I enjoyed was that it was extremely transparent
and could be made to look like pretty much like whatever you wanted. The
fact that they ran beautifully on coax was also a plus.
