>How many other spots have people worked on that have outlasted the technology?

I hate to admit it in a public forum, but I shot those really truly awful "Mr.
Microphone" spots ("Hey guys, we'll catch you later!") for Ronco about a
million years ago, and I STILL see them from time to time on local stations
when I'm on the road.

We shot it at Ron Popeil's house, with him directing (badly), and somewhere
around the 9th hour with no meal break I finally pulled him aside and
mentioned that we were about to have some serious equipment problems if the
crew didn't get something to eat. He goes upstairs and rousts his girlfriend
out of bed and gets her to come downstairs in this ratty robe and fuzzy
slippers and make us some sandwiches.

So I'm standing behind her in the kitchen as she's scratching herself half
asleep, and the fourth time I say "You're gonna wash your hands first,
right?"with increasing volume, Popeil screams that I'm fired. The producer
whispers in his ear and mentions I have the tapes locked in the truck. Popeil
tells her to wash her hands. She does. We eat. We shoot another five or six
hours.

Ah, those were magical times. It's where my love of showbiz originates.
