THAT was the line I was trying to remember! Thanks.

All the "talent" were amateurs, friends of Popeil or the producer.

And it would have been just another badly written, badly acted, no-budget
retail spot, except that for some reason it had some combination that caused
it to entrench itself as part of American pop culture and stuck in people's
brains for decades.

It was all just magical, and I feel humble to have been a part of it :-).
