the guy was a marketing wizard, though certainly in the realm of
schtick. The product that I remember best, from the early 70s, is the
Popeil POCKET FISHERMAN which, when I look at references to it on the
web, actually gets a lot of praise. It was for us hippies one of the
most ludicrous ideas of the era, like, we didn't even think of killing
fish, much less using a POCKET FISHERMAN to do so. And Norman Maclean
would be turning over in his grave.
