that machine remains etched in my engrams as the first VTR I learned.
Very reliable and easy (for its time) to set up. Beautiful wire-wrap
boards very impressive to see from the backplane. Very nice "sHuNk"
sound when you operated any of the relays. Going into record was not
something you did without thinking, having to press two bright red
buttons at the same time.
There was a little editor-box accessory to the 600 that allowed
SMPTE-code-based editing, with as I recall a thumbwheel to set the
T/C...
