Not true. MPEG4 is a container format just like QuickTime (and
actually based upon QuickTime structures). MPEG4, like QuickTime,
supports many different CODECs for audio, video and other content (as
we know, QT supports sprites, Flash, timecode, text and God-knows
what else). You can make a QuickTime movie using several audio and
video CODECs that MPEG4 also supports - such as H.264 video and AAC
audio. Just to put the tin lid on it all, QuickTime supports the
creation and playback of MPEG4 containers (in various profiles) too.
Incidentally, Rob, you should NOT need any additional QT CODEC to
have QT 7 decode H.264 video tracks, so I'm not sure what you made
there with VisualHub (which is a great little app if making podcasts
is your thing).
