[Tig] for Bob F and others: ImageMagick question

Bob, (and of interest perhaps to others) have there been or will  
there be any
plans for ImageMagick to run on Mac OS X, under a GUI?  I imagine I can
compile it for FreeBSD, but I was hoping I could use it (even though  
I'm a
commandline guy) in a visual way.

I'm having to wean myself from Photoshop due to circumstances beyond my
control, and have found OS X's Graphic Converter (advice from Ted  
Langdell)
much more advanced than I had thought it was, even in the area of color
correction.

Which brings up a second question for Graphic Converter aficionados:  
with
experiments it seems to me that in the "Brightness Contrast"  
adjustment widget
that "Red Contrast" (to take one example) is adjusting red black  
balance.  Am
I wrong in that assumption?
