[Tig] false color, I believe?

A new photograph from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter
featured in an article in yesterday's New York Times shows
stunning detail and obvious evidence of the planet's fluid
past.   The photo I have seen, at  http://tinyurl.com/2xkhgh
appears to be rendered in false color, though nowhere in
the caption or article is this mentioned.  I get the idea of
false color from the fact that sand dunes are deep blue.

If anyone can clarify this I'd much appreciate it.
