[Tig] bulbs for the home

I agree with the feelings about the light output of
compact fluorescents. Some are definitely more
pleasing than others. I use them in my front porch
light and in a floor lamp that stay on all
night-wherever the quality of the light is not as
important.

In a somewhat related topic, a few years ago I took
advantage of a generous LA DWP (Department of Water
and Power) rebate program to install an array of solar
panels on the roof of my house. The 3 kilowatt system
generates about 1/3 of my family's electrical power
needs. The system should pay for itself after ten
years of operation. Unfortuanately I own a gas clothes
drier.
