I remember, being at the time really into videgraphics, using the Paik-Abe 
while at CalArts (recording EIAJ color or U-Matic), field trips to Image West 
where alumnus Peter Kosczera was glamorously working, and hoping to get a crack 
at a Scanimate myself. Nothing like messing with the deflection yoke 
oscillators and rescan.
