[Tig] bulbs for the home

I live in Los Angeles too and just finished a major remodel and expansion of
our entire house. The way that we got around the 50% title 24 fluorescent
requirement in the bathrooms was by discussing beforehand with the inspector
the fact that we categorically did not want them and would not use then
them. I then asked nicely how we could meet the requirement and make him
happy otherwise... We reached an acceptable compromise where we used a
single Ultra Low Noise Bloan ceiling fan/fluorescent light unit (the light
component of which we never planed to use anyway) and put an electronic
timer on the two main incandescent lights that shuts them off after a
maximum of thirty minutes. Then all the above vanity lights, indirect
lights, and over sink lights could be incandescent with no timer
requirement. Since I used Insteon controls throughout the house, the timer
was something that I planned to do anyway - as with the fan - so no big
deal.
