The January 22 issue of The New Yorker magazine has an interesting
article about color consultants (who are called colorists) in the
manufacture of paints, colors of products, packaging, etc. The
main point of the article is how, starting about 6 years ago, wasabi
green became a color of choice; wasabi green is a yellowish green with
grayish undertones. There seems to be a parallel between the popularity
of this color in paints, products, packaging, and its popularity as a
color theme in commercials, starting at about the same time.
