[Tig] Color Render times question

Simon,

We usually schedule at least 3-4 hours for a 20 minute reel. Which
essentially means an overnight render and review a reel first thing
the next day. This, however, is operating at 23.98, your 59.94
material should take proportionally longer.

You most definitely want to break up the project into more manageable
20 minute reels. Longer then this and you will have performance
issues (and unbearably long auto-saves).

Silicon Color at one time had a network render solution, which we
shortly had working, however it never really was ready for prime time
and SC scrapped the project. Hopefully, Apple will one day
incorporate its Qmaster solution into Color. Until then, your best
bet is a SAN and another Color station rendering reel 1 while you
grade reel 2.

Good luck,
