Some time ago (June 2002) we proposed a telecine genealogy to track  
colorist movements, and Dave Pickett contributed a piece about the  
"late 90s meltdown" in LA.  The complete tracking project fell by the  
wayside but someday it would be fun to revive it.  see

where Dave gives an account of late 90s movement in LA.  The post to  
which he responded was one where I was interested in documenting the  
"original" colorists in LA, NYC, London, etc.  People who merit  
recognition for paving the way:  Rich Garibaldi, Yan Yarborough, Don  
Lee, Don Pipes, Bob Festa, Chris Devlin, Joe Bond, Bobby Johanson  
(spelling?), etc.
