Due to use of twice as many non-redundant components, of course.  With 
RAID 0, if any of the drives fail, then all of the data is lost.

The external drive vendors push RAID 0 due to its (supposed) 
performance boost, but the reality is that they like RAID 0 since it 
allows them to easily offer more storage in the box while using 
lower-capacity, cheaper, drives.
