      Horseless carriages still do the same thing, and have the same  
consequences.  I'm trying to frame this artifact against some of the  
applications that are now out there and available to consumers.   
Reconcile the concept that professional grading was accomplished with  
this thing, and now you've got basement projects  whinging that whats  
available now is still no good to them without 99 levels of "undo"....

    Which sort of suggests the question....  "How much of this (job  
function) is just guesswork to an operator who would need that much  
backup?".
