Bill,

We do it as quite the norm, you will need time master the process, best
to ingest to InDaw then network your keylink with InDaw, copy to keylink
with audio stix pre-marked from the InDaw ingest. Run keylink in VTR
mode. Is this a dual transfer 24/30?

As far as ratios, I'm always amazed at Producers who tell us what the
ratio should be, yes sometimes you can get to 3:1 but there are many
variables in the process, color correction, tail slates, no slates, how
short of takes,a VT with 100 events is going to take you double the time
than a VT with 50, it all comes up on a daily basis. Most of the time it
averages out to 4:1. Speak with Alaine at Aaton, he's very knowledgeable
and has been tremendously helpful to us.

Regrettably the business has been driven by the folks on the west coast
who have given flat ratio bids, the facility ends up eating the time,
not a good business model but public companies tend to do things
differently than privately owned companies, but we all have suffered
from this practice.
