Is anyone using Aaton for circle takes only sync insuite? I am finding
this a more complicated task as errors in the list info are harder to
fix and we can loose our link to audio in the process of fixing the
event info.

I'm a great believer in fast syncing in telecine.
Can you achieve a ratio of 3:1 ?? well I
certainly do - even less - but I always use
AATONCODE. and the trick , like all things, is
to know how to use it.
Assuming the expertise in TK - If your film crew
is properly educated in code use, and follow it
through - it's a breeze. If they don't know what
they are doing, then it can be a nightmare!!
Traditional slate syncing is a bore, but first
pass, second pass mode on Keylink can
dramatically speed this up as on the first pass
you punch in your claps, and your grades,
checking your sync as you go - then spool back to
the head and hit record. Enjoy your coffee and
write your notes!
We use a combination of InstaSync on Keylink and
InDaw's post Sync capability. If the sound
hasn't arrived in time for the transfer - Indaw
is great for a quick sync and stripe - so long as
you've recorded your 3 line VITC with your audio
timecode.
