To defocus through a shape or a key, you have to go to the ColorFX room.
The easiest way is to choose one of the preset "Defocus Vignette"
effects from the ColorFX Bin to the right.
OR:
Drag a vignette effect into the workspace, adjust its parameters,
select the blur effect, drag it into the workspace, drag an Alpha
Blend in the workspace, then, link the blur to the left input
"triangle", (the "raw" source is automatically linked to the other
input) and then link your vignette (or key) to the "alpha" input of
the Alpha Blend effect. You can also link all the parts together
first and THEN adjust the parameters. Bob Sliga might have done a
podcast on this on the old Silicon Color website you could download.
This may seem like a lot of effort, but it allows for lots of
flexibility and control AND you only have to do this ONCE because you
can save the effect and use it again and again, only changing the
parameters.
I don't think you can additionally qualify a Hue, Sat or Luma Curve
through a window. Seems like a bug to me.
I'll try to figure out how to post a screengrab of the above "defocus
vignette" effect and the effect itself to the TIG. I've never
uploaded anything before.
