leaving alone the subject of the Abilene Network for the moment, just
thought I'd
mention that the entire subject of copyright is undergoing review in
the light of
today's technology (i.e. internet) in many quarters, the Free
Software Foundation
being an innovator in this area. Two days ago the New York Times
carried a story
about the Brasilian Culture Minister Gilberto Gil and his efforts
with regards to
progressive copyright (copyleft).  See
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/11/arts/music/11roht.html?
pagewanted=print

This is not intended to ignite any political debate and is offered
only for
information purposes.
