You would have to use denser exposures on '38 so that there is no
actual Dmin on the negative otherwise you have too many flare
problems in the print. Aiming for something like base+fog+0.1D is
a good place to start. Gammas in black and white have to be
significantly higher to get the same appearance to the image in
a theater.
