Well to me that is a completely different scenario. What you describe sounds
like clients working remotely to access a premium service (working with
their preferred name colorist) when they can't make it to LA. Although there
are perfectly good colorists in Chicago, everyone has their reasons for
preferring a certain colorist. So to be able to work with that colorist when
geographically separated is sometimes worth the impersonal nature of the
workflow. The gain outweighs the loss for them.
What seems unlikely to me is clients putting up with that so that they can
work with a less experienced/talented/resourceful service in a 3rd-world
country across the ocean. In that scenario you're losing on both counts...
