Craig, I definitely synchronize with this last paragraph of yours. I
do believe that technology can remove the human, interactive element
in sessions, though it can work for some (a definite minority- unless
every facility is owned by Ascent, which could come to
pass). I go visit my taxman each year because I enjoy seeing him,
enjoy his advice as given firsthand. If I have as a colorist, for
example, 15 sessions a year with a particular client, do I want to be
talking with him/her on the phone/videophone with images sprayed
back and forth with god knows how much processing, etc. etc. etc.?
I'd much rather have him or her in the room, where we can be human
with each other.
Technology is ahead of humanity at times for the wrong reasons.
