If I can use a sports metaphor... there may be two teams on the
field, and they're all actively engaged in the sport... (say football/
soccer) but only one person can have the ball at any given time.
Each team member is anticipating their upcoming role as the play
shifts around the field... and trying (on hopes) to be in an
effective position but only one person has the ball until they pass
it on to someone else.
Making color or editorial decisions via a group still requires
someone to lead the decision-making process in the presence of
multiple, competing or conflicting ideas, nothing productive happens.
Just passage of (sometimes expensive) time.
Ted.
