I think it all started with the division of labor, around the time of
agrarian reform and the industrial revolution, when jobs in cities
became
specialized, and no longer were we connected with our home,
community, family,
and ever since there has been increasing separation between people.
I hope
at some point the trend will reverse and there will be more human
interaction.
Interestingly Brasil is a country where there exists a very strong
sense of
family and community and you never feel alone (unless you want to).
The 1st
world countries all suffer a bit from individualism and Marcusian one-
dimensional
man syndrome.
