Not candy-coated enough would be the answer. We had all the UK versions, 
particularly of Hard Day's Night, the first film I ever saw, in 1964 Bristol, UK, 
just before we emigrated to the US. My brother and I were I think the only 
boys in the audience, taken to the show by my mother, who would've been a bit old 
for that sort of thing then, at 32. Only later did I have any idea of the 
plot, for all the screaming.
