Hola

Here in Digital Sporckets Mexico we mix technologies, and it works!
Cintel Turbo telecine with Da Vinci Classic, Teranex Mini Noise reducer
upconverter. Black Magic Multibridge Extreme, and super new NewTek
SpeedEDIT.
We just produced 3 tv spots for a Partido Verde Ecologista de Mexico a
mexican polital party, we filmed with Panavision Gold with Kodak 5205, I
transfered and color corrected the footage with the Cintel Turbo and Da
Vinci Classic, then upconverted to 1080i and noise reduce the image with
the Teranex Mini, captured all 10bit uncompressed with the BlackMagic
Multibridge. Then the audio that was recorded on set with a Mac laptop,
was sync, edited, graphics titles, everything with SpeedEDIT all in real
time.
Then exported a 16:9 letterboxed version to SD NTSC to a Video Toaster 5
to master at the same to Betacam SP (for TV Azteca) to D3 (for Televisa)
to MiniDV and DVD (for the Client).

So a good mix of old and new got this spots on the air on time, on budget,
and if needed they can go to 35mm film from our filmrecorder, to advertise
in Movie theaters.

TV spots in Mexico still are broadcast in SD even when prime time
telenovelas, nightly news and soccer games are in HD.

New technologies are always cool but sometimes are too expensive, and an
overkill for some proyects and budgets.
