Wow.  If we were to really live by that, all that is Linux (which is free and 
as cheap as we can go) would be crap.  We all know this to not be the case, 
thank god :)

Products are made less expensive for various reasons and it can usually be 
seen that some products are sold for less over time due to availability and 
competition. Look at DVDs, when they first emerged to now.  I wouldn't 
consider all of them cheap and crap, even though they are all relatively 
priced the same.

Is there cheap crap out there, yes but then again this really has nothing to 
do with price as I have seen some really expensive pieces :)
