Hope things settle down for folks in the Southland soon...

Good reasons to postpone unessential travel into the area... like the
flashcan demo tour I'd planned this week into LA and Irvine.
In the last ten years, I've covered several large fires in my part of
Northern California, and the aftermath wasn't pretty... and the
indirect effects were pretty wide-spread, ranging from the lack of
air quality in a large area to longer-term economic issues.
The last big one we had up here was last month in the Susanville
area. Smoke blew into the upper Sacramento Valley and made breathing
a problem for a lot of poeple.
It seems fortunate that fatalities and injuries are few. Hope it
stays that way. Prayers for everyone affected.
