I have a wiebetech SS8 here on a mac pro quad 2.8 it is a sata to scsi  
and does 250mb/s read and write at a raid 6 and is very well built, it  
was about $6200 with 8Tb and the atto scsi card. I would also look at  
the Cal Digit enclosures they seem very nice and support up to 450Mb/s
