Eh? The very purpose of this device is that it emulate an undesirable  
artifact of CRT performance. And this isn't about image refresh, this  
is about 'scanning' the backlight to disguise the characteristic  
switching performance of the TFT. Emulating a technique (100Hz CRT  
scanning) designed to disguise that very effect would be utterly  
pointless. And since when was 50Hz CRT flicker a subtle effect?
