At the risk of advertising and blatant promotion (unrelated to
myself), I would like to forward on this little bit of advertising
regarding HD.Net and a presentation which may be of interest to many
people here. It will surely be a "must see" for me since I have never
seen Lawrence of Arabia in HD or on film. I recall first seeing it
off of VHS tape on a 25" TV in letterbox format. I later saw it off
of DVD on a large screen TV and was quite impressed but wishing I
could see more details. This is an opportunity to see the film in HD,
where it will *still* be lacking as compared with the original but we
should see more grains of sand.
HDNet Movies Presents the High Definition Premiere of
"Lawrence of Arabia"
Legendary epic to air for the first time in HD - Sunday, February 10
Dallas, (February 6, 2007) - HDNet Movies, the movie lover's
destination, announces the high definition premiere of the movie
classic, "Lawrence of Arabia," on Sunday, February 10 at 6:15 p.m.
ET. HDNet Movies will be airing the restored Director's Cut.
This 1962 classic film is the winner of seven Academy Awards
including Best Picture and Best Director for David Lean. Peter
O'Toole was also nominated for Best Actor and Omar Sharif was
nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
Another film of great (visual) merit which is coming up on HD.Net is
"The Right Stuff" which I recall deciding not to see in the theater
when it came out, but was quite impressive when I finally saw it.
