Yes, because rabbit ears are VHF and ATSC is UHF. The telescopng rods are 
useless; all you need is the hoop :-)

We get far better ATSC reception that we ever got NTSC. In NYC the issue is 
multipath. Careful aim, sometimes at a reflection rather than the source, with 
a directional antenna like the Silver Sensor works best IMHO.
