thanks for providing that reference Bob. Now I'm more current on US
FCC regs.

there's one thing I disagree with significantly: the FCC regulations
as stated in this ruling do _not_ apply to AM/FM broadcast reception-
in other words, you have no federal right to have an antenna 12 feet
in mast height in order to receive radio signals, unless you're
covered by PRB-1, the Amateur Service regulation.
So, there's a built-in bias toward television.

I once had an argument with AT&T representatives about my
long-distance phone bill, where they stated that I should have known
about particular special offers through their television advertising.
I told them I didn't have a TV. The sound of cackling and mirth
preceded my being placed on terminal hold.
