[Tig] Spirit vs. DSX

this is possibly going to open more than one can of worms, but I
thought it worthwhile to hold forth on a subject that can be, well,
subjective in the extreme.

I've worked recently on a DSX and on a Spirit. Independently of
resolution, my basic observation is as follows:

DSX: Depth. "filmic." images that bring a feeling of film in the
sense of having the properties of film. Very hard to put into words.

Spirit: Color rendition much better than DSX, in separation terms.
Certain hues, in particular cyan, are more faithful and seem to defy
the CIE colorspace and the phosphors of our trusty Sonys. But: a
flatter image than DSX - initially lacks depth (the portuguese word
serves it well: profundidade) but can be adjusted and perfected by
good colorist with various tools.

unhabitual way.
