DSX :]    can you describe the differences you see between Sp. 1 and  
2k/4k?

By the way I agreed with Peter Sutton's comments.   I would ask, any  
colorist who has been working on a Spirit (not sure which  
generation), take a walk on the other side, return to the best tube  
machine (DSX or Millenium II very highly tuned) and give your return  
impressions.

Film grain is not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion, also:  
realize that the Spirit basically creates a still frame running with  
which to work, while the DSX is working with a live frame.

This is not to challenge Spirit in any way, I love the machine, but I  
also love a very well-set up DSX.  If I could have both in my own  
facility... (are there any facilities that have?  must be.)
