[Tig] another new monitor? (could be a sony-beater?)

I had one of these in for a short demo and took some measurements.

The monitor arrived pre-calibrated, although Barco did say that this was a Beta version and that a calibration menu would be in the production version.

The factory calibration that Barco had done proved to be very close.

We did have this monitor next to a BVM-D32 (EBU phosphors), and with D65 whitepoint setup to measuring exactly the same there was a visible green offset on the LCD due to the different spectral densities of the LCD and backlight to the CRT phosphors.

I felt that this was a good monitor, but would benefit from further improvement in contrast ratio. The claimed 800:1 was however 100% accurate.

It was at NAB but I had a hard time getting any information about it.
One thing that I found odd was when I asked about calibration I was
told that it would be delivered calibrated and it would not change.
If it needed calibration after a year or so they would exchange it
likely for a fee. It looked like more of a prop to stimulate interest
than a product ready for production.

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation at all with Barco or any other brand.
