We all know that film, even 8mm and super 8mm, is very difficult to digitize
perfectly given the obvious limitations of sensors and technology today.
What is the BEST scanner on the market that can extract as much of the
dynamic range, reproduce the color, and retain the grain structure as
accurately as possible from 8mm/super 8mm film? Personally, I've found that
a Canon H1/Workprinter-XP setup is just about as good as a Millenium. The
contrast on a Millenium is a shade better, but not $500,000 better. The
sharpness was as good or better with the Canon H1.

 

Never seen a Spirit Super 8 scan, and would be interested to know if there
are streaming HD files on the net for those examples.
