[Tig] FW: who graded matrix

I often wonder in cases like this how much subjective regrading is
done to these video masters. For example, in the case of the Matrix,
the greenish wash that characterizes the in-Matrix scenes was
accomplished with printer lights in the theatrical release. In a DI,
that kind of effect is often created in a way that allows skin tones
to pop through relatively unadulterated. When a non-DI film is
mastered to HD from neg, are the labs lights incorporated as a
starting point? Or is all the grading subjective? Is there commonly
a sense of preservationism in effect that would cause one to shy away
from secondary corrections that were not a part of the theatrical
release?
